I took some time off back in March to rethink my writing career. I’ve been trying to decide whether or not to continue writing. I love doing it, but it takes time from other things I love to do and projects I have in mind. While I was thinking, though, we had a flood in our house, forcing me to hang up my keyboard and become a carpenter. In the middle of that, I got a severe leg infection that put me in the hospital for a week and then left me bedridden for two months. You’d think that would give me plenty of time to think and write, but no. The medication I was on kept me from being able to think or even remember things.
So, I’m through that mess now. But somehow, without planning on it, I started writing again. I’m currently working on Myrick the (Not So) Magnificent Volume 4 that’s currently titled ‘Barbarians and Androids’. I also am slowly cleaning up the audio of some of my older works and trying to figure out how to get Tales of Myrick Volume 3, A Sidekick’s Secrets to Saving the City, and Delroy Versus the Pirates of Poughkeepsie ready for self-publication. That takes a lot of time, though. I’m hoping to get those books out, along with audio, early next year.
So, that’s where I am now. The recovery from my illness took a lot longer than expected but I feel I’m about 85% now. And I’m excited about writing again. Of course, the rest of the bathroom restoration project is looming over me still.
